Prove me wrong! Now im not saying it doesnt depend on individual skill or style of gameplay.
My main thought being he can: 1) soak up loads of damage 2) create free space and push through chokes 3) peel and crowd control
But alongside these points, it sounds toxic but if you NEED a shield you arent using environmental/natural cover, or placing yourself as well as you could be to stay alive!
I rest my case with this - if played correctly, wrecking ball CAN be a great main tank.
(This post made after yesterday, atrack first on a 2cp map, being recently told ball was a bad choice (in an all gold/plat lobby) because we had no shield, and I had switched to shield, only to then switch to ball with 30 seconds on first point, no ticks. I contested. We capped, then capped the second point.) So .. Yeah!

Nah.. Orisa has the best of all worlds.. she's a shield tank that can also do projectile damage from a distance. Other shield tank (rein) has to be up close and personal so it puts him at bigger risk of being downed. And dva has no shield so she sux (just my opinion). I'm Team Orisa all the way!!

Other shield tank (rein) has to be up close and personal so it puts him at bigger risk of being downed. And dva has no shield so she sux (just my opinion). I'm Team Orisa all the way!! Well to this, I begin the debate! Orisa isnt a bad tank, but she has certain flaws too. While she can put out damage, wrecking balls weapons do much more damage; so if they prioritize team kills over him, he will, or should, secure at least 1 kill. And if they shoot him he can shield himself to have upwards of 1000 hp! Her limited mobility and the ease of tracking her shield break and cooldowns can make her a sitting duck! Which is where id take rein over orisa, he can relocate his shield instantly and regenerate it so that it is unknown what hp his shield is at. Overall yea orisa is a stronger brawl comp tank, but if playing with characters like lucio, genji, pharah (sp), reaper, soldier even who can flank often, there is a significant amount of damage and space and plays that wrecking ball can create. Given situation and skill set of course. Now if the other tank wants to play no shield and u have people like symmetra, torb, or bastion, or like ashe and stuff where they dont usually dive players, then i suppose wrecking ball is much less ideal
